AWZI Houtrust

The AWZI Houtrust waste water treatment plant was originally built in 1967 and has undergone major renovations over the years. With the current treatment capacity of 430,000 pollution units, the installation can treat the waste water of the residents and companies of The Hague region without any problems. At the site, with a surface area of 5 hectares, AWZI Houtrust can treat an average of almost 79,000 cubic metres of waste water per day, equivalent to the content of more than 2,600 tankers.

The Hague 'oldies' can retire

The management of the water treatment is performed by Delfluent. This is a consortium of four specialised Dutch and international companies that is working on the design, construction, financing and management of the waste water facilities in The Hague region for a period of 30 years. Delfland Water Authority, the client, opted for a public-private partnership, which is unique in the Dutch water sector.

Boll & Kirch 6.19 GR150 DN200

Over the years, Lubrafil has supplied many manual and automatic water filters for various processes at the Houtrust location. After 30 years in operation, two of these automatic back-flush filters of the type 6.12-DN200, dating from 1987, were due for replacement (even though they were still functioning). The 6.12 type has been out of production for quite some time and has been replaced by the 6.19 type, which has different installation dimensions.

Lubrafil took on the entire project; supply, installation, modifying the pipework (including welding work) and the commissioning. Lubrafil disposed of the old filters in a responsible manner.
