AWZI Zwanenburg

AWZI Zwanenburg is one of more than 30 waste water treatment plants (AWZIs) within the Rijnland Water Authority distribution area. Here, waste water is made clean again. So clean, that it can be responsibly returned to the environment. At this plant too, Boll&Kirch filters supplied by Lubrafil have for years done the 'dirty work' in the industrial water process. Lubrafil has a contract with the Water Authority for maintenance and replacement of Boll&Kirch filters. Lubrafil conducts preventive maintenance of the Boll&Kirch filters at all AWZIs every year.

Lubrafil full service for the Rijnland Water Authority

A type 6.18-DN100 filter dating from 1998 at AWZI Zwanenburg, the casing of which was deteriorating as a result of maintenance arrears in the past, was an extra point for attention during every inspection. During the preventive maintenance round in 2017, Lubrafil observed that the deterioration had reached the point where internal leaks could arise. The report therefore contained a replacement recommendation. The Water Authority placed an order for replacement of the filter by a new one during the 2018 round.

Boll & Kirch 6.18 DN100

Lubrafil has recently delivered the new filter and hoisted it into the relevant space. As the new type 6.18-DN100 has the same installation dimensions as the old version, the replacement was a relatively simple job for Lubrafil's experienced service engineers. The old filter was removed and disposed of. The new filter could be installed 1-on-1 at the existing location. This took almost no more time than regular maintenance would have done. The system’s downtime was therefore very short. Since the start-up, the installation has been operating with no problems again.
