RWZI Driebergen, maintenance of Boll & Kirch filters

The Boll & Kirch filters are placed in the so-called process water supply to the polymer make-up system. Polymers (polyelectrolyte or PE) are used to achieve a good solid-to-liquid ratio. The polymer is added to the solid material emerging from the sludge to bind it. The solid material is then separated from the water in the thickener. We have installed two types of Boll & Kirch filters in this process. A BFD for preliminary filtration, and subsequently an automatic filter of type 6.18 to protect the pump.
