Filter problems on Motor Vessel Falcon

We boarded motor vessel, Falcon, following a request from the Boll & Kirch service department in Germany. The vessel was experiencing problems with the self-cleaning Boll & Kirch fuel filter, type 6.72.1DN65. The vessel arrived at the Port of Rotterdam and we boarded in the very limited amount of time available. Having listened to the problems, we overhauled the filter and modified the so-called refill times in the control cabinet. These had apparently been changed “en route” for reasons that were not clear to us. The filter was tested extensively, after which the vessel could continue on its route with a correctly-functioning Boll & Kirch filter. Our compliments to the engine room crew. Both the filter and the environment in which it is located were exceptionally clean and well-maintained.
