Attero Moerdijk
The first pile was drilled for the construction of the new steam turbine generator system for the Attero waste-to-energy plant in Moerdijk in early 2016. As well as the construction of a steam turbine generator system to generate power, there will also be provisions to take in and discharge cooling water. The construction will take almost two years and will improve Attero’s contribution towards long-term generation of sustainable energy in our country, as well as contribute to the responsible processing of waste in the short and long term. The installation’s processing capacity is around one million tonnes of waste annually. AEC Moerdijk is one of the most energy-efficient waste-to-energy plants in our country. The system has a total of four processing lines.
The new system will also supply heat to neighbouring companies and to a future district heating system. The total project investment amounts to over 100 million euro. Most of the works will be implemented by the German builder, Kraftanlagen München. Kraftanlagen München also purchased four type 6.18.2DN300 and 6.18DN400 filters from Boll & Kirch in Germany for this system. These filters will be used in the cooling water intake and discharge station in which particulates are removed from the water in order to protect the system. Filter cartridges will be used that have a special protective layer to restrict algae growth in the system as far as possible.
Lubrafil will make the installation operational and provide the associated training and instruction of operators and maintenance staff on the Moerdijk site. The various professional disciplines will be trained regarding the filter functions and maintenance in different groups and compositions of groups. The required Dutch-language instruction manuals will also be produced by Lubrafil.
This is a good example of outstanding cooperation between the customer, the producer Boll & Kirch and Lubrafil. Boundaries and language barriers were bridged professionally and this enabled us to confirm our commitment to corporate social responsibility.
