Navy ship Zr.Ms. Karel Doorman comes to the aid of the Caribbean.
21-04-2020Zr.Ms. Karel Doorman left Den Helder on April the 13th. The Joint Support Ship (JSS) is now en route to the Caribbean to support the local authorities in the corona measures.
The ship was first docked for 6 months for maintenance and was not completely ready yet . The ship was technically prepared in five days. Besides that all systems had to be tested, spare parts were also missing. The Karel Doorman also has Boll & Kirch duplex fuel filters on board. The parts are not standard and must come from the manufacturer in Germany. As the exclusive distributor for Boll & Kirch, Lubrafil was able to ensure that the required parts were delivered on board on time. We wish the ship and her crew good luck on her important mission.
